cpanel in the future?
I know I can run cpanel with vds servers, unfortunately nothing on managed VDS.
Is this something that you plan on considering in the future? (to add cpanel to web hosting packages)
I wouldn't mind paying extra for cpanel added option.
The reason I like cpanel better is because easier to backup things, automatic restore/backup features. Easier to setup ftp users/mysql users and other several settings.
Bottom line is, after moving from NFo web host to another company well the other company my site loads very slow.
NFo has to be the best hosting company for anything!
Thanks,
Emon K.

Re: cpanel in the future?
We don't currently have plans to add cpanel to our shared webhosting plans, but you could run it yourself on an unmanaged VDS, if you wish.
We do have plans to add features like the ones you described to our control panel here, though there is no firm ETA.

Re: cpanel in the future?
John, 1 core unmanaged vds should be sufficient to run a single webserver right?
That's all I am looking to run.

Re: cpanel in the future?
Yes, for most sites, a single-core VDS would be enough.
Re: cpanel in the future?
A lot of companies are getting away from cpanel, due to the fact the fees are killer.Edge100x wrote:We don't currently have plans to add cpanel to our shared webhosting plans, but you could run it yourself on an unmanaged VDS, if you wish.

I've checked and see how much cPanel would cost...
Well the fees are just killer, not worth it for a single domain..
I am looking forward to see some of these features added in the future.
I absolutely love NFo control panel.

Re: cpanel in the future?
additional question.
Does the VDS server have a restriction on how many people can connect to the website @ once.

Re: cpanel in the future?
On a unmanaged VDS, you would not have any restrictions on who can connect or how many people connect on our end, but you would have a practical limit, determined by resource requirements.
Re: cpanel in the future?
Bummer no edit option here.
Since I'd be hosting my own web server on NFo VPS I'd only have to buy a vps license right?

Re: cpanel in the future?
There is an edit function. It's just time-limited to avoid abuse.
CentOS should work fine for a webserver. I don't know the details of cPanel licensing, so you'd have to ask the cPanel guys to be sure, but I'd expect their VPS license to work.

Re: cpanel in the future?
Yes, that's correct. All our VDSes use Xen.
Re: cpanel in the future?
Going to spend a lot of time posting on webhostingtalk before I order so I know everything before I install.
Usually running unmanaged web servers brings great perks...less restrictions and of course NFo's Internap bandwidth.
I am surprised John you price your VDS servers a lot lower than most web host companies! Also I am surprised you disclose all the specs/hardware info of your machines where most VDS companies don't release all that information.
And of course we don't have to worry about overselling stuff here.
Thanks for the help.
