Some Full Machine questions

Post by mattb »

I was thinking of an unmanaged server because I have this game I would like to host per request would you be able to host it, gta san andreas multiplayer or nfo install it?

Is minecraft exclusive to your linux based servers, or can I host it on a windows full machine managed box?

We don't currently support that server type, so you'd need to go with an unmanaged VDS or dedicated server. For a small server, I'd recommend going with a 1- or 2-core unmanaged VDS.

Minecraft can be run on any unmanaged OS. We only support it with a managed server on Linux.

The ssd used in the second machine is MLC SATAII SSD?

One thing do managed full machines perform the same as your regular servers right, because your ordering it off the same place.

thanks,

I would recommend against purchasing the SSD option unless you are running an intensive Minecraft server, as other games simply don't need it. The SSD used is going to be an MLC Intel model, as we have found Intel to offer a reliable and high-performance product.

Managed full machines have all of the same tweaks and systems that our regular servers have, yes. The main difference is that you control the CPU and memory usage, since there is no moving of servers to/from other machines.

thanks for the help, just wondering how might I be able to install HPET on a unmanaged dedicated server? to run 1 server in 1000fps.
