It states: You can adjust "Round start player count" as low as 1 on the easy setup page here, and at the same time change "Preround start player count" to something lower, such as 0. However, keep in mind that a number under 8 will remove you from "quick match" eligibility, so you'll see fewer random public players.
In the "Easy Set-up" for our servers, these values are blank. Does it mean they are "default" and thus eligible for the "Quick Match" ? If we need to set these values, what are the OPTIMAL values to have them at?

Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
You can find most of the default values here;

@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Thanks Kraze!
Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
The defaults on the "Easy setup" page are the defaults for the game and should be safe. If you already submitted the page once and it set up your Admin/Startup.txt for you, just delete that file through the "File manager" page to start over from scratch.
Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
admin/startup.txt isn't a file I see I can edit or delete in the filemanager (it's not listed)
I only get the map cycle file, a pbsvlog.cfg file I created, and pb logs. I cannot edit anything else....but shouldn't I be able to edit the startup.txt file?
And the thing that sucks about "Quickplay" being set at 8 before a round begins, is that unless you got your server started on the day of release, your server won't see anyone waiting more than a min or two to play when no one else seems to be joining. This definitely sucks balls. So for those of us who have empty servers, we gotta lower the limit, invite folks and try and get a player base before the quickplay works.
I sat in my server for 4 hours and not one "quickplay" person joined.....this sucks.

Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
You should see it on the File manager, yes. If you don't, let us know, and we can check it with a repair.
When the server was put up doesn't make a difference in Quickmatch results as far as we can tell.

Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
Well, I only say this because all those who have been up or are full are WAY at the top of the list, and ours is near the bottom.....and it doesn't sort by ping or player count, so I am not sure how the game browser works, but ..... 4 hours and not 1 player....and today, it's been up all day, and not one player.......I think something is "up" with Origin's Quickplay.....don't like it one bit.....but I know, I know....bit*h to them.....sorry, I'm just venting. 36 hours it's been up.....logs show no one has joined at all. *shrugs*Edge100x wrote:When the server was put up doesn't make a difference in Quickmatch results as far as we can tell.
Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
The results always show some full servers and some empty ones, and the order is supposedly random. I'm told that's how they designed it. The browser is separate from quickmatch, though they do share the same back-end (Blaze).
Re: Question from the FAQ for BF3
Order is random ? Ha! So they say.... 36 hours and not one connect....that *is* random I guess....
