Coffers for new orders

Post by Zaxxon »

If I ordered a new game server, would my donation coffer be used before I am charged money for it?

Also if I upgraded to a 2 Core VDS for 2 BF3 32 slot servers (managed I believe I have to select as well), would the coffers cover that?

What would happen to my current billing cycle that I have around 25 days left on this game server? Would I still keep the first game server for 25 days and then the days for the VDS rental start today?

My plan, is that if I can get enough regular donations is this:
Go from one BF3 game server rental
to
one 2 Core VDS for two 32/slot BF3 servers (to start with anyway).

If you do it as a change order, the game server would be changed over to a VDS server immediately. Your renewal date would also stay the same, with a prorated charge up front to cover the difference in cost (if any).

Donation funds can be used for any payments made to us, and they are always checked for and used up first before making and charges on your normal payment source.

A 2 Core VDS should run two 32/slotted BF3 servers stable but not a 64/slot server (maybe a 48 slot), does that sound right?

That sounds right. The problem is that BF3 is only lightly multithreaded, so throwing more CPU cores at it doesn't help performance of a single server after 2 cores. CPU speed is what matters, and the VDS servers have some added overhead due to the virtualization that makes 64 slot servers very iffy even with the fastest CPU's available.

Are you referring to a standard order, or a game server to be placed on a managed machine or managed VDS?
