Problem with B3

Post by EazyMango »

1st off I know you guys do not support B3 and understand this.

But my problem,
I have had 5 servers running on a NFO un-managed VPS for months with B3 being hosted elsewhere and never had a problem what so ever connecting to them.

Games being COD2 / COD4 and COD 5

We now have 2 Managed servers with NFO and cannot get B3 to connect to the gamelogs file to run commands via in game.

The spam from adv plug is spamming our rules and other spamage but commands will not work.
My path to the file is correct, has been checked multiple times, I can connect and stream to the file via browser so that is not the problem.

Something in the setup of the managed server is blocking the B3 bot from connecting and I have no clue what.

Anyone have an Idea ?

Thanks

I am not to familiar with B3 myself but how was B3 connecting to your servers when they were on the un-managed VDS? Is it possible that how you did it there, is blocked on a managed setup?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point

@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

We don't have anything on the network level that would block it, and I know that others have used it successfully. Does it provide you with an error anywhere?

120318 18:38:03 BOT 'PAUSED - Not parsing any lines, B3 will be out of sync.'

Kraze It's setup exactly the same way it was before, I have setup B3 many times and have connected to many different servers and I'm stumped on this.

"URL.nfoservers.com" wouldn't be valid. Have you tried entering the server IP itself?

The error that they are providing is unfortunately not useful.

Since you have confirmed that the FTP itself works, this mostly comes down to troubleshooting your B3 configuration and client.

Yes I have tried the IP and still no go.

I can config it to work on another persons cod2 gameserver at another location and it works fine so I have no clue as in why it's not working with your managed game box's.

As I said above just last month we had one manged and one un-manged server with you and I could always get my b3s to connect to the un-managed games servers we had but never on your managed servers, so I still have a eery feeling its something to do here.

Thanks

Have you tried running the B3 bot from somewhere else as a test?

Hello,

I have the exact same problem here. 2 days ago, I moved from CentOS 6.2 hosted gameservers to your Windows managed-server. All previous instances of B3 in Linux worked perfectly. Now, I'm going through the same situation as the OP.

B3 is able to connect to the servers but it doesn't recognize any of my commands. My B3 host has gone as far as installing a fresh B3 (no plug-ins), and the results are the same.

We feel it's something to do with FTP..

Help please?

Do they have passive mode properly enabled for the FTP?

Hello,

Can you enable unlimited connections and remove any restrictions so we can test everything out. B3 connects to the FTP, not an FTP Client to connect.

The FTP is hard-limited to 10 connections at once per account, but correctly-configured B3 will only require one.

B3 is acting as an FTP client. My suggestion is that you double-check that it is using passive mode.
