Coppa help

Post by Zipperbag »

My PhpBB install went great (thank you), but a quick question in reguards to coppa (under 13) I enabled the coppa registration (w/o contact info) and then disallowed coppa users from even seeing the site (no plans to allow anything remotely immoral) but even a link to a youtube video of gameplay would contain some obscene language. Basically I dont wish to publish personal info, but I do want my site in compliance. Do you know if this setup sounds acceptable?

Basically Im inviting players in the server to visit the forum. I currently have the forum set to; visitors can only read (almost seems to conflict w coppa requirements)

Im also planning to have an enter button w caption "must be over 17" on the index page. (trying to match the games rating)

It shouldn't matter.

The reason is they are not providing any of their information's if they are browsing your website, so you will not be legally liable for what they are doing.
Now if they were to register to your website and have to provide personal information's then you must disclose coppa during the registration process, usually the coppa screen comes up before they start entering their stuff.
