Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
The update today likely overwrote all of the gamemodes.txt and gamemodes_xxx.txt files. If you edited those files, instead of the gamemodes_server.txt and gamemodes_xxx_server.txt files, it will likely cause the problem you are seeing. Only the _server.txt versions of those files should be edited, since Valve will often overwrite the others.
If this does not seem to be the situation with your server, please open a help request so we can take a direct look at your server.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I am an admin with the original poster "mets". I had to share my 2 cents, there seems to be a lack or communication and help from NFOservers regarding our server and I assume other servers aswell.
Is there not some type of section on this website that would give a step by step guide on how to operate and maintain our server? This down type is crucial for our server and is not helping the longevity and traffic for our server. Regulars will start going somewhere else to play.
We also have another issue where atleast a minimum of once a day the server crashes, sometimes 3-4 times. We have a scheduled restart time but that does not help. We have a few admins in the server, but only a few know the login information to the actual site to restart the server. It is quite the nuisance since we have jobs and cannot always be watching the server. We have tried to fix this and open tickets but help was minimal to say the least. All this is really hurting our servers.
We also have another issue where the map rotation is not working as intended, we always have to manually change the map or call a vote, perhaps this is tied in with the previous problem I stated.
BUT other than these few major problems, the server is great, the ping is good, we have managed create a quite active server with a great group of regulars. But I feel the constant crashing is really hurting us. It's getting to the point where it's just not fun anymore.
Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciate, thanks for time and reading my giant wall of text. Even if it means an admin to the forums/site has to log into our NFO accounts and have a look around, any bit of help would be great.
Please don't give us the run around

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of the server side errors are actually Valve's side, and NFO can't do anything but hope updates are pushed out to fix the issues. I have no doubt the NFO staff will go above and beyond to make sure this get's resolved with whatever they can do. Like I said, if it's the game server itself that is causing issues, they have to wait for Valve to fix the issues.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
So we just wait and hope it fixes itself while other servers and running as intended?? Sorry but that just does not make sense, I feel like I would have a better bet finding a server while in CS:GO which is hosted by NFO and ask them for help than on here. The last ticket we opened sent us to a knowledge data base that had two topics that had little to do with our problems. Sorry but we're just not impressed.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Well I've used plenty of others and nothing can even compare to NFO, and I absolutely love my services at NFO. If they are sending you links, it IS going to be related to your issues. They can only provide so much assistance, as you are held accountable for anything you add to the game server after initial setup. They are there to assist, not doing everything for you. The joys of running your own game server, you find fixes for issues as they arrise.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Haha great, we did nothing to the server and it seems to have fixed itself.
But at the cost of us losing all our customization/game settings/server settings. Heck it isnt even a casual server anymore. This all just isn't worth it.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
This message is usually related to a gamemode or mapgroup being used incorrectly and is generally because (a), you are using a map that isn't associated with the mapgroup, (b) you are using a mapgroup that isn't associated with the gamemode/type or (c) you have edited the gamemodes.txt file or gamemodes_xxx.cfg files and once the server updated, it overwrote these files.Retrying connection to 208.146.44.153:27015, server requires lobby reservation but is unreserved.

The gamemodes.txt file and gamemodes_xxx.cfg files are not intended to be changed, which is why they are read-only in our control panel and any changes would need to be put in gamemodes_server.txt or gamemodes_xxx_server.txt and any values in these files will just overwrite values in the original files.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
I honestly do not see how this would be considered NFO's fault, I can tell you my 4 servers are running just fine and I make use of gamemodes_server.txt, gamemodes_XXX_server.txt, and gamemodes_XXX_server.cfg files, (Yes I use all three because of the stupid locked cvars on CS: GO).
If your server is unable to start, I would suggest taking your administrative files OFF of the server (backing them up), doing a fresh wipe up the server, and starting from scratch. When CS: GO first came out while I was getting everything running right I had to do this almost twice a week to get things running smoothly. Once I did everything's ran great. My servers are all running just fine. Also general crashes on a daily basis could have to do with an outdated (or an unstable) version of a plugin, try removing administrative plugins for a while and check out the stability of your server. Then add them each on one by one (that includes removing sourcemod plugins to bring it bare bones functionality which is the only way I run it anyway), then watching it for 24 hours, adding another couple, watching 24 hours.
Running a server is not something easy, and general plugin and configuration is not something any hosting provider will do for you, that is up to you. They can provide assistance where applicable, and it is every support specialists goal to educate their users in being able to resolve the issues themselves, there are guides on how to properly configure servers throughout this forum. I have 3 myself that indicate things that can cause issues in stability, as well as information about why you shouldn't run any map management from sourcemod, and why you still have to make use of ALL of the configuration files. NFO staff has also provided some of these support threads here too.
I believe the responses in this thread have been well done as well.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Right now the best sources of information on CS:GO configuration here at NFO are the "Easy setup" page and the KB section of our forum: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=84. The "Easy setup" page thoroughly describes how the configuration files are loaded by the game in its current form, which is rather complicated but important to understand.
CS:GO is unfortunately still a buggy game that is still being changed with every release by Valve. This makes it more difficult to document. Valve has a wiki, but it is also out of date and incomplete. I recommend reading our resources and experimenting with the server, then asking any follow-up questions here or through support requests.

Re: SERVER NOT WORKING!!!!!!!!!!
Your server isn't working properly because you haven't invested the time and research into learning how to manage a CS:GO server. Don't blame NFO for your lack of time and effort. I successfully setup a 32 slot custom map rotation CS:GO server by myself by putting in the time and effort it took to make it run smooth as butter. The only glitches remaining are those that Valve has yet to address in updates and have minimal impact on the server. If you don't know how to manage a server find someone else that does and hand it over to them. This isn't a job for the average Joe Schmoe. I work as a network technician for a living and I still have my difficulties running this Beta mess that Valve handed out to us, but I make it work.
By the way, I performed about 5-6 complete server wipes before I finally figured out how to manage all of the config files effectively.
All of the information and problems you will need solutions to can be found on Google or on these forums.
