Team Fortress server: listing problem

Post by arnevb »

Hello NFO,

We set up a Team Fortress 2 server on our VDS here, on the IP 74.91.116.148 and the port 27015 (Query Port: 27005). The problem is that is isn't getting listed in the Master server list of Team Fortress, so the server can't be found when you search for it in-game.

Adding the server to your favorites works, aswell as viewing it in your history. I've been looking on all the support topics on the internet about this, but I still didn't find the solution.

Thank you for your help!

Note that the Steampowered Api is saying that the response is positive:

Indeed, the master servers are aware of your server, so this problem is strictly with the Steam network and nothing you did on your end.

I also recommend setting a region value so that people searching for your server are more likely to find it. There's no downside to defining this, as it will still show up for those not choosing a region.
