Do any of your locations have a 100-199.x.x.x prefix?
I have one in Atlanta but it starts with 64.x.x.x and looking for a location that starts with 100-199.x.x.x

I don't think NFO uses IPs in that range, at least from my research before buying, and experience with them since then, I don't ever remember seeing an IP starting in that range. John or one of NFO's staff will need to confirm/deny this though
What is so special about an IP in that range?

When you click on the server browser for Battlefield 1942, the 100-199 servers show up first, so you basically have to do nothing to populate them.

It's worth a shot..but I'd set one up on the origin release rather than 1.6 or 1.61

We use some 192.x IPs in NYC that are just starting to be used. The system will grant you an IP based on what's available and will go with older IPs first, though.

Is there a chance, if I switch locations to NYC that this would be possible?
I really can not afford to keep an empty server, this is why I am curious.

I didn't know that IP ranges make an actual difference whether or not the server is full or not.Kansas1327 wrote:Is there a chance, if I switch locations to NYC that this would be possible?

it doesn't. our servers are populating just fine and starting with a much lower prefix.
I wouldn't bank on this to populate your server. Start a group. Populate your server otherwise you just get trolls all day. which is counter productive.

In the old game, BF1942, when you first open the server browser, it is sorted by IPs.
An IP starting with 100 would be almost first in the list, and he is banking on this helping to fill his server. I can't argue with him, almost all of the servers that first appear in the browser have people in them, and all start with 1xx as an IP.
