How can I generate an authkey for Workshop?

Post by Vanderburg »

For game servers, the Steam API key is used to link the game server to a steam account, and is required to use the Steam Workshop directly. Only one can be provisioned per Steam account, but you can reuse it for each of your servers.
  1. Visit: http://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey and login with your Steam details.
    • A link to this page is also provided on the Easy Setup tab of your CS:GO/CS2 server control panel.
  2. After logging in, you will see the following:

  3. For the domain name either use a domain you own, or use your game servers provided subdomain (which can be found on the "Description" tab of your game servers control panel).
  4. Agree to the Terms of Use, and select "Register", you may need to confirm on the Steam app or email if you have steam guard set up.
  5. Copy your key, then visit your NFO control panel and select the "Easy setup" tab.
  6. Enter your key into the "API key" field and submit with the "Commit changes" button.
  7. Reboot your server on the "Server control" tab to enact the changes.
