SA:MP Server on Debian Server

How would I go about setting up a SA:MP (San Andreas Multiplayer) server on a Linux (Debian) virtual server? I have the server files, but I'm not sure what to do after I log in via FTP (FileZilla) as root... Please help.

I have no experience with SA:MP, myself, on any platform.
