Post by Brewskii187 »

Would you mind posting what it is you did incase other users are wondering?
@Kraze^NFo> Juski has a very valid point
@Juski> Got my new signature, thanks!
@Kraze^NFo> Out of context!
@Juski> Doesn't matter!
@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

Ill write up a full guide when i have time, but heres the quick version. What i was trying to do is get the vpn to assign my client a Static ip with internet access

-server manager > add role

-install Routing and remote access (RRAS)

-Install VPN per guide above skipping the optional part (i also installed NAT, but i believe its unnecessary)

-get secondary ip from nfo (not nessicary, but you will run into problems if hosting game servers or other traffic)

-add ip to xen adapter. network + sharing center > change adapter settings >right click xen > properties> ipv4 >properties > advanced >ip addresses > add

- go to server manager >local users and groups > users >add user > give permissions you want. ( I guess you could use Administrator, but i dont recommend it.)

-see screenshot

-alternately use this guide if you want to use the same static ip for multiple users http://www.thomasmaurer.ch/2010/10/how- ... r-2008-r2/

-put new ip where is says Assign static ip address

-Configure VPN on client machine
