DayZ Server Issue

Post by theballin7 »

Hello i am running two DayZ Servers and server 1 is running fine with 20-30 players but on my 2nd server it desync really bad all the time even with 10+ players on ( gets worse when more players are on )

i was told since i am on a un-manged full machine i cant get support directly so i am coming here looking for help why server 2 is badly desyncing.

Image

core 1,2,3 is using server 1
core 4,5,6 using server 2

server 2 is using all 3 full cores when there is only like 10 players on the server

Are you running any mods on that server? Is the second server an exact copy of the first? Same rates, configs..etc?

Post the bandwidth part of your config so we can take a look.

i forgot to say that server 1 is using the @DayZ mod and server 2 is using Dayz Overwatch

both servers use the same config

Code: Select all

MinBandwidth=10000000;
MaxBandwidth=40000000;
MaxMsgSend=26;
MaxSizeNonguaranteed=256;
MinErrorToSendNear=0.050000001;
MinErrorToSend=0.001;
MaxCustomFileSize=0;
MaxSizeGuaranteed=512;
Windowed=0;
adapter=-1;
3D_Performance=1;
Resolution_Bpp=32;
class sockets
{
	maxPacketSize=1400;
};
serverLongitude=-97;
serverLatitude=33;
serverLongitudeAuto=-97;
serverLatitudeAuto=33;

For the rates try something like this..

Code: Select all

language="English";
adapter=-1;
MinBandwidth=800000;
MaxBandwidth=50000000;
MaxMsgSend=384;
MaxSizeGuaranteed=512;
MaxSizeNonguaranteed=256;
MinErrorToSend=0.003;
MaxCustomFileSize=100000;
Windowed=0;
Also try unsetting your affinities. I wouldn't expect them to help in this case. Windows does a decent job balancing cores and when you set affinities it can't move a processes to another thread if said core gets overloaded.

Overall CPU usage is low and you have plenty of ram free. Did you try running the server at stock to see if the Desyncs still occur?

iam trying those settings out now i will let you know how it goes after server restart also yes i did try a stock overwatch server with no custom scripts/addons and i still got the desync with just me in there.

my rpt was flooded with this
15:15:09 Server: Object 108:512 not found (message 70)

with over 40k lines

Since it's only the second server that is having issue I don't believe this would be related to CPU usage or ram usage and task manager confirms that.

Rates probably aren't to blame either but changing them was worth a try. If you turn off the 1st server does the second one perform any better?

Also has everyone confirmed that the second server is worse?

Like mentioned before, let Windows handle your CPU's for Dayz servers and it will balance your server out as needed.

Second, is your database on the same server as the game servers, or are they located somewhere else? Maybe on a webhosting account?

well right now the servers are doing fine no desync at all after i removed the affinity from the servers.

we might have a little desync from time to time but its not as bad as it was before. and yes the database server is hosted on the machine where the servers are
