Most of the NFo Servers are full, where servers from other competitors are dead, empty, lag, crash more than ours. Kudos to NFo for providing an excellent service.
Whatever NFo is doing, it's helping keeping our servers filled.

Re: NFo hax.
I think a big part of this is hardware. Many of our competitors use E3-1270vX machines and likely didn't have enough of them in place for the release. It's more difficult to balance BF4 loads across E3-1270vX machines than dual E5-2690v2 machines (since they don't hold as many servers), and BF4 usage has been highly variable, with signups that have come in big waves.
We've rolled out quite a bit of hardware for BF4, before and after the release, to make sure that we are meeting demand. It's been a challenge, but we've been successful in keeping CPU usage down below the threshold that triggers automatic load-balancing on most machines throughout the first 10 days. Going into this weekend, we're in a strong position, with spare capacity everywhere, with even more hardware being shipped tomorrow and early next week, just to make sure it stays that way

Re: NFo hax.
NFO, I haven't lagged once on our server and it's full all day every day. We all play on our server because everything else crashes and lags a lot (unplayable) all other servers start lagging eventually, but ours doesn't even need to be restarted for days (even tho I want to) it's just full all the time because of the stability.
We've been using NFO for 4 years in the US with my clan (I recently got a EU server from you because I'm from EU) I know you're new at this whole EU hosting, but you're doing a better job than providers who have been hosting in EU only for years. The second I saw NFO approved as provider I was happy. I honestly don't trust other providers anymore.
Your support system is lightning fast also. You are all extremely active on the forums and you reply to things that you probably shouldn't even need to but you do it anyway because you care. Really love this place.

In my experience the majority of EU hosting comes from OVH, which yes they are good and all, but their servers and network aren't really tailored to the low latency response times of game server hosting. Although their prices are significantly lower than NFO, I still think NFO has a market over there
I have seen a lot of germany servers from NFO and I am glad they are getting orders over there. Hope it keeps going well!

Kudos to NFO for the awesome server. Ours is rocking almost 24 hours a day w/ players. We are very happy with the stability of R7 and the performance of our shared BF4 server. It does get a little bogged down in the evenings as I suspect other shared servers on the same host picks up more players. The highest CPU usage I saw was around 27%. That was when I noticed my server started to lag out a little bit. But that's only for a few prime hours in the evenings. But overall, we're loving our decision to go with NFO! Keep up the good work, Edge100x!!!
Re: NFo hax.
I've been with NFO for at least 5 or more years now for all the reasons you guys noted. I did business with several other providers over the years too sometimes because we had to like with COD and only being able to work with Gameservers. And, sometimes at the request of my clan because other servers were less expensive and they didn't want to spend the money. I warned my group we would be disappointed and that service from other providers pretty much sucks. I can recall waiting for days to hear back from Gameservers when our COD server wouldn't stay up and feeling totally on my own as a customer of theirs. I told my clan never again would we rent from any other providers as long as I was our server admin. That NFO would be our only provider.
These days we only rent from NFO and my clan doesn't even question it anymore. They now understand you get what you pay for and they know that NFO is right there with us if there's a problem. John has built a GSP to be very proud of and I was so glad to see that EA/DICE chose NFO to be a provider. As well John and his team work hard to help us and to keep pricing reasonable too.
Thanks NFO!

Not to be a party pooper, but it's unlikely. Certain companies were likely chosen over us due to their global footprint. In my opinion it would be wiser to choose a single company that can reach millions instead of 3 that can.IcEWoLF wrote:I hope NFo wins the next exclusive dedicated server deal for CoD
Even if one of those companies clearly excels in performance...

@Juski> You said I had a valid point! You can't take it back now! It's out there!

I'm more for how EA did it, as a general rule. Having many RSPs gives customers choice in the marketplace and leads to price and quality competition. It also allows providers to focus on regions that they can support well.
There are many providers out there that claim to be global but have few customers in other regions because they don't understand those markets, don't speak the language, don't understand the routing properties in the region, etc.
The sweet spot number probably falls somewhere between BF3 and BF4.
