Re: Changing root password on Debian
I'm attempting to change it because I do not know it. Running init as bash should allow me to change the password after bootup correct?
I know that passwd is the command needed to change the password.

Hurrican Sandy + New York servers
Because of the outages in the New York servers, are we still getting charged or does the 100% SLA take effect and we do not have to pay while its out?

Re: VNC console vs RDC

Re: VNC console vs RDC
That's weird, and yes the screen saver is enabled (I think). I cannot change the power settings on the RDC, only on the VNC. I will just disable the screen saver and see if that fixes things.

Re: VNC console vs RDC

The server is Windoes2k3 x64, and when I close the RDC it doesn't log off imedatly, it logs off after a few minutes, I usually do not know because I use it right before I go to bed, and the owner of the server tells me that the server shut down for no reason. Whe...

VNC console vs RDC
I have used both the VNC console in the control panel and the Remote Desktop Connection tool on windows, however; when I disconnect from the server, leaving the account logged on, it will close any applications running and log the user off. If I use the VNC console, the user is never logged of, but ...
