I'd practically do anything to test out a whole machine! Even get naked and run down the street with nfoservers.com on my butt.TimeX wrote:I'm in line ahead of you. This is not coming down to a challenge of thumbwars, is it?

Got my VDS running in Seattle. Running 2 - 1.6 servers. Flawless so far, and very happy, once again. Hopefully I'm the first to buy a VDS in Seattle so far. John, can you comment on that? I was wanting to be the first, as I have been waiting for a year or so.

It looks like you were the first, rusty. You beat the next customer by about 30 minutes.

Well, that just made my way. Sad, yes, but I am glad to be the first at the new location. How many people signed up so far?Edge100x wrote:It looks like you were the first, rusty. You beat the next customer by about 30 minutes.

Well hopefully it is a good turnout at the new location. So far so good for me, as per usual with NFO.

Re: Want some information before buying a VDS
Quick question. Any easy way to install flash on firefox under CentOS? I would love to do a speedtest just to see what kind of speeds I can get. I'm amusing the box is on a 100Mb port, so I should be able to see near that speed. I got emailed a speedtest that was just below 100Mb each way, just wanna reply to that with something similar. You know, for bragging rights

Re: Want some information before buying a VDS
Flash may be available through the package management system that you can get to through the GUI, but it's not something that I've tried specifically before, so I'd have to Google it.
Your server here is on a gigE (1000mbps) port. Online speed tests are pretty flaky, though: http://www.nfoservers.com/forums/viewto ... =47&t=4525

Well the highest speedtest I know if speedtest.net, which is what the guy used. He achieved just under 100Mbps each way. He was also on a 1Gb port as well, but just wanted to see if I could achieve the same type of results.Edge100x wrote:Flash may be available through the package management system that you can get to through the GUI, but it's not something that I've tried specifically before, so I'd have to Google it.
