If you contact us directly, we can take a look to see if a machine with faster cores is available at your location.
and if we do it will be the same ip right :)
Hoping it is XD

Correct. As long as you are not moving it to a different location, it will keep the same IP.

Okay i just found out what the processor is.
I got putty and got into the server:
Here it is:
model name : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5640 @ 2.27GHz
and 1 gb of ram.
IS that good enough to hold 50 slots in your opinion, even for a regular css server no mods?

Wanted to say. We got to 50/50, been 35+ for the past 2 nights!
We are doing good. Um the fps is eh okay. At 40/50 it can start getting busy. at 50/50 it's super busy. Cpu at 99% Epic though....
May upgrade later.

If you are running ze on a single core, you will max at 34 players or so.

If you run 3 cores, it will do nothing more then 2 cores (if you are running only 1 server).

The low FPS you are seeing is because of the games map detail. Those maps are extreme and will bog any machine down no matter the hardware.

I would recommend finding a stable fps around 12-15 and allow NO MORE players after. lock the slot count where that FPS hit and thats about as good as you are going to get.

12-15 seems very low, but for ZE you will be ok. I ran the worlds #1 server in cs:s like that for a while on ze, people got used to it.

I would also suggest not running maps that are unstable. They may be fun, but lag isn't.

alright.
Just wondering, could a 6 core 2.93 ghz processor with 12 gb of ram and 1000 mbps network connection handle a ze server? 50 slots. At a pretty stable fps?

Yes omega was fun. oh the good days. anyways.

The server runs on a single core. 2.93 will bring you most of the way but I would not expect 50 slots smoothly without limiting your skins and mods and maps.

If you can balance what you have loaded as far as plugins and skins and maps go, 50 slots should be a fairly smooth ride. Also set your rates as this may help.

Keep in mind however, ZE maps are the main factor here for lag. If you want to play LOTR type maps, do less slots. If you want more slots, don't do LOTR type maps.

Also mind your playerclasses.txt settings. Faster moving players and higher push back values can cause spikes. The speed method used in ZR should still be lmv i think. I would not change this since the alternative is used to allow higher player speeds, which is not recommended.

Though zombies need to be faster, I would highly recommend only having 1 fast zombie class that can die easily, and leave the other zombie classes the same speed, and then lower pushback value of human players. it is a good balance last time I used it.

I was also the only server running ZR that used this method. Honestly, it worked wonderfully.
