Bad Lag issues on my vps
Ok so at first i was running a minecraft server on ubuntu and then i switched the tf2 server so i could host a MvM server for me and friends. But ive noticed that each day the cpu got higher / the lag got worse. I was just wondering what was going wrong with my server ? i mean at first it was working great with no lag we could play all we wanted but the next day there was a little lag and now it lags every second
ive opened a ticket but since its not a manged server they cant do much so i was sent here.

Re: Bad Lag issues on my vps
Have you been restarting the game server at least daily? TF2 has some memory leaks that reduce performance over time. What CPU and memory usage are you currently sitting at?
Re: Bad Lag issues on my vps
yes i have a crontab to restart the server at 12am each night
right now its sitting at 80% and its affecting my ability to login on to ssh

and 672 ram used
Re: Bad Lag issues on my vps
How much does that leave you free?
80% is very high. Do you only have a single-core VDS?

Re: Bad Lag issues on my vps
yes and its would have 200mb left. restarting seems to fix it but am pretty sure its just a quick fix... its already starting to lag again
Re: Bad Lag issues on my vps
200 MB left is not good.
I would tentatively recommend upgrading to a 2-core configuration.

I would but don't think i can afford $40 a month : x so ill prob just switch the type of server am hosting because the bots are kicking the servers ass >.<
