Moving VDS Location

Post by tr0gd0r »

If I have a VDS in Seattle and want to move to NYC does your service automatically transfer my hard disk and all its contents to the new location? Or would I need to backup my VDS and reinstall everything once the move is completed?

With unmanaged VDS's our system will automatically transfer your current disk over to the new location.

Also I want to add to that thread in order for them to move a managed server to another managed server without losing data they could rent a separate managed server on the location that is desired, then they can change location for each individual server without losing data, at least that's what I did and it worked perfectly.

Of course this is not cost effective, however for users that have hundreds of plugins and settings and configs that are set their server, it would most likely be a small price to pay to save a lot of headache.
