Re: Server Crash
My servers were running without any crashes for 2-3 hours, then suddenly 2 of them crashed around the same time. I know one of them(Conquest Large 64 players) was on Operation Locker.
Interesting...
Atleast they filled back up almost instantly.
EDIT:
Server just crashed again, after filling back up :\

Re: Server Crash
If someone is up to do some testing, I would suggest take your 64 slot server and restrict the slots to about 24. If the server remains alive for say 2 hours, up the slots by 2. Test it for another 2 hours and then up it by 2 again. Continue this pattern until the server starts crashing again.
This would act like a stress test.
With Arma 3 beta, we saw the same constant crashing with to many slots. I know it's a different game and engine, but this is what we had done, and we eventually found that servers stopped crashing around 32-38 slots, depending on the quality of the server people were using. Anything higher started the constant crashing again. Once the devs were notified of this pattern, they were able to trouble shoot more and eventually improved the servers greatly.
It may be that the servers still needs more tweaking. Packet sizes or min/max packets or whatever is involved.
Issues may just be on Dice's end but wouldn't hurt to try it out.

Re: Server Crash
Here's a fun client side crash, on Siege of Shanghai when the building collapses it crashes anyone within a close viewing range, but only the client, not the server (that's a good one, right?)
Re: Server Crash
I know I'm really gonna regret posting this but I feel like it is my duty to report - The past few hours have been very smooth with no crashes at all! It makes me wonder what the factor is here that causes the crashes.

Even for your 64 slot server?TimSad wrote:I know I'm really gonna regret posting this but I feel like it is my duty to report - The past few hours have been very smooth with no crashes at all! It makes me wonder what the factor is here that causes the crashes.

Re: Server Crash
Heck no not on a VDS! They are a pay per slot standard rental, not even on a rented dedicated server.Ruger wrote:So far our 64 hasnt crashed but Im seeing alot of complaints of lag.

Re: Server Crash
Okay, everything is back to normal! Operation Locker is back to crashing at least 3 times an hour.

Re: Server Crash
yep, we're a bunch of paying beta testers.
They don't make them like they use to.

Re: Server Crash
Hi guys, just in case you are getting other reports like this to pass on to EA. Our 64 player Conquest server has been of course having some issues as noted below.
1. On Siege map now has happened three times to us, when the building collapses on this map it's causing more than half the players to crash out of the server. We went from full to less than half full when the build came down. Players reported their game just stopped working and they got disconnected. Funny that this never happened on this map during the Beta!
2. On several maps now sounds issues have cropped up where sound is fading in and out and sometimes no sound at all. I've had this happen and had many players report it on Lucang Dam and Golmud Railway.
I'm actually going to pull Siege out of the rotation until this is fixed.
